George Washington as a Freemason

C. 3rd quarter 19th century, 27 1/2" x 24 1/4" overall in the original black walnut and gilt gesso trimmed frame retaining the original backboards and glass, never having been opened. The approximately 20 1/2" x 17" image is lithographed on medium stock, die-cut and is mounted on light paper of the period. Condition of all is exceptional having hung in a dark lodge room with no windows for most of its life. All in all it has minimal signs of aging with no foxing, fading, creases or staining. It is in reality better than shown in these pictures, taken at an angle to eliminate glare. The frame is tight as the day it was made and the gesso trim is in the original gilt paint with minimal age lines and has only one tiny flake on the inside edge. Best one of these I have ever seen... and I have traveled some...
